UCN Election

Ballots for the UCN election have been mailed, and you should receive your ballot in your home mail. To vote merely fill out the enclosed scantron and return it in the pre-stamped, pre-addressed envelope no later than March 22, 2002. "UCN" stands for UniServ Council of Nevada, and it is a consortium of the 15 rural counties. UCN allows the rurals to have a more equal voice with the two urban counties Clark and Washoe. OCEA's Warren Wish has served his terms as UCN Representative from Region A to the NSEA Board of Directors, and Gaylea Manning is running for his vacated seat. If Gaylea does not win this election, we will be represented at the Board by someone from Esmeralda County. It is clearly advantageous to have a local person on the state Board of Directors. Similarly, Gaylea is running for NEA Representative Assembly. Winning that election means Carson City will get another voice at the national convention this summer. To vote for Gaylea, mark spaces 12A and 15A on the ballot. Please take the time to vote in this important election.
